Cooking:
- Before using,
wash in hot, soapy water, rinse and dry.
- Low to medium
heat offers the best cooking performance. Use high heat for boiling
only.
- To minimize
sticking with frying, sautéing and searing, preheat the
pan for one to two minutes over low heat before adding foods.
- Choose a
burner that is close in diameter to the pan you’re using.
If cooking with gas, adjust the flame so that it does not go up
the pan sides.
- PLEASE:
Do not leave empty pan on a hot burner or allow to boil dry.
Oven
cooking:
- KitchenAid®
Porcelain Stainless Steel Clad pans are oven and broiler safe
(except for nonstick skillets, which are oven safe to 500°F
and are not broiler safe).
- Always use
hot pads when removing pans from the oven. Handles WILL heat up
in the oven.
Cooking
Utensils:
- Metal utensils
are fine to use with KitchenAid® Porcelain Stainless
Steel Clad cookware.
- Minor scratching
may occur when using sharp knives in the pan’s interior,
although this will not affect the pan’s performance.
- FOR NONSTICK
PANS: For maximum long-term nonstick performance, wood or plastic
utensils are recommended. Metal utensils may be used with care.
Do not cut in pan or stir with sharp forks.
Cleaning:
KitchenAid®
Porcelain Stainless Clad cookware may be washed in the dishwasher
with mild gel dishwashing detergents. However, we recommend hand
washing to ensure the cookware stays looking its best. Over time,
harsh dishwashing detergents may dull the finish. If you notice
this occurring, stop using the automatic dishwasher and wash the
pans by hand. To polish the stainless steel surface of your pans,
use a stainless steel cleaner and rub with a circular motion and
soft cloth, wash, rinse and dry. Overheating may cause brown or
blue stains on stainless steel. Polishing may remove these stains.
To remove stubborn
spots on the porcelain exterior, use a nonabrasive plastic mesh
puff or pad. Do not use steel wool, coarse scouring pads or powder.
To prevent
water spotting, rinse in hot water after washing and towel dry thoroughly.
Stainless steel
lids may be washed in the dishwasher, however over time harsh dishwashing
detergents may dull the finish.
If spotted
white film appears (caused by minerals from water) try rubbing with
a sponge or brush that has been dipped in lemon juice or vinegar.
Wash, rinse and towel dry.
PLEASE: Do
not use oven cleaners. Do not use steel wool. Do not use harsh detergents
or cleaners with chlorine bleach.
IMPORTANT
INFORMATION:
To prevent
pans from being knocked off the stove, make sure handles do not
stick out past the edge of range top, and do not let them extend
over a hot burner.
Depending on burner and pan size, cooking times and temperatures,
handles may heat up and require a pot holder. However, always use
pot holders to remove hot pans from the oven.
